HBUST has a history that can be traced back to 1937 when Puqi Normal School was first set up. Since then, she has gone through 83 years of changing and developing with different names at different times. The university was granted the present name in 2012. HUBST has a body of more than 20,000 students and a staff of more than 1,800 professionals and workers. Among the professional faculties, 140 have professional titles of professors and 285 have doctor degrees. 3 Academicians of the Engineering Academy and 4“New Century Excellent Talents” are hired as permanent tenures. HBUST has 23 schools and research institutions offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses /programs covering more than 10 disciplines. 3 courses are recognized as Specialized Courses at the national level, and 13 as Key Courses or Specialized Courses at the provincial level.
